Wayfinders is Fujitsu’s new business and technology management consulting firm built for the AI era. The mission of Wayfinders is to help customers define how they should harness the power of technology to outperform their peers and drive new frontiers of growth and profitability. We help customers from opportunity to outcome; we work with them to develop their strategy, implement it at scale, and maximize their return on investment. Position Overview — Solution Architect

The Solution Architect serves as technical lead on client engagements, operating under the architectural direction of the Business Solution Architect. They own solution quality end-to-end — ensuring the technical solution both meets and is demonstrably understood to meet all client requirements (functional and non-functional). This is a client-facing role: the Solution Architect leads client meetings, engages directly with client representatives, participates in requirements refinement, and supports troubleshooting as needed. Where offshore team and product specific system integrators contribute to the technical solution, the Solution Architect coordinates their work and retains accountability for overall solution quality.

As part of client pursuits, the Solution Architect builds POCs to strengthen sales credibility. On smaller deliverables, they may deliver independently; on larger ones, they work alongside the broader Wayfinders delivery team. Because engagements run inside client delivery models, the role requires comfort ramping up on unfamiliar technology and client approaches quickly.

Core expectations: strong grounding in system design and common architectural patterns; working fluency with SaaS platforms such as Dynamics 365 and Salesforce; conversance with Agile and Waterfall delivery models; and fluency delivering applications via Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) within the Microsoft ecosystem. AI-assisted, AI-accelerated delivery is a core part of how Wayfinders operates, and Solution Architects are expected to work fluently within that model and to contribute to Wayfinders' internal delivery platform in alignment with the broader Fujitsu delivery model.

The right candidate brings strong experience delivering in regulated environments, can discuss and refine requirements directly with BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance) clients, and can deliver independently or lead a focused global team. Comfort operating with independence, resolving ambiguity, and using AI to increase delivery velocity is essential. Travel is required, up to approximately 25%.

Key Responsibilities

Domain-Centric Technical Solution Leadership

  • Deliver highly performant system designs — microservices, event-driven architectures, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) following the architectural direction of the Business Solution Architect.
  • Lead or contribute to technology evaluations and POCs across the core banking and lending value chain: retail banking, online banking, origination, fulfillment, servicing, and secondary market.
  • Support pre-sales and consulting engagements: solution refinement, effort estimation, and delivery timelines.
  • Translate architectural blueprints into executable designs for cross-functional teams, and coordinate delivery efforts involving offshore team and product specific system integrators

AI-Driven Delivery

  • Design and implement AI/ML-driven solutions — lending decisioning, fraud detection, risk scoring, and personalized banking experiences — in partnership with client and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Integrate AI models into production systems for predictive analytics, intelligent automation, and customer segmentation, working closely with data science and engineering.
  • Drive applied use cases: AI-powered underwriting, agentic AI/chatbots for customer service, document intelligence for loan processing, and real-time portfolio risk analytics.
  • Ensure AI implementations meet ethical, governance, and regulatory standards (e.g., model explainability, Fair Lending, Model Risk Management).

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 15+ years of technology delivery experience in consumer banking and lending.
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end BFSI processes: retail banking, lending, payments, risk, compliance, and customer lifecycle management.
  • Proven track record leading digital transformation initiatives — core system modernization, omnichannel enablement, cloud adoption.
  • Experience managing enterprise change, transformation governance, and value realization through KPIs.
  • Expertise in core banking systems (e.g., Finastra, FIS, Fiserv, Temenos) and loan management systems (e.g., Encompass, Empower, MSP, Black Knight, ICE).
  • Experience across personal loans, auto lending, mortgage origination/servicing/capital markets, digital channels, and customer identity & onboarding.
  • Familiarity with Open Banking, embedded finance, fintech APIs, and regulatory standards (FCRA, HMDA, RESPA, TILA).
  • Experience designing and deploying AI solutions in BFSI contexts — underwriting, customer insights, fraud prevention, or intelligent process automation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cloud certification (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Hands-on exposure to AI/ML in intelligent underwriting, fraud detection, or collections.
  • Familiarity with AI platforms/frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, SageMaker, Vertex AI) and LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and open-weight models), with experience integrating AI into core banking or lending platforms.
  • Experience with GSE (Government-Sponsored Enterprise) platforms — Fannie Mae DU, Freddie Mac LPA.

Soft Skills & Attributes

  • Strong leadership and mentoring ability; effective across mixed client, onshore, and offshore teams.
  • Adapts quickly to new environments and technologies.
