Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 11–13 years in network operations within a production environment.
    • Proven expertise in Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto platforms.
  • Core Networking Skills:

    • Extensive hands-on experience in Security, LAN, WAN, and Wireless network operations.
    • Strong knowledge of Routing Protocols: BGP, MPLS, OSPF, VRRP, HSRP.
    • Proficiency in Switching Technologies: VLAN, HSRP, STP, VTP, VXLAN, VTEP.
  • Firewall Expertise:

    • Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls (3020/3050/M-100/5250).
    • Skilled in Panorama for centralized firewall management.
  • Device Knowledge:

    • Cisco Devices: 1900/2900/2800/3900 Series Routers, ASR Series Routers, Catalyst 6500/4500/3750, Nexus 9300 Series Switches.
    • Juniper Devices: MX5 T, EX4200, EX9208, EX3400, SRX340/240, EX3300, EX4300/4600.
    • Good to Have: Brocade ICX 7250/7750/7450.
  • Security & Optimization:

    • In-depth understanding of security technologies, QoS, and best practices for network and security.
    • Ability to identify single points of failure and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Advanced troubleshooting skills for incident and problem management (RCA).
    • Expertise in configuration for change management and optimization of routing/switching/security policies.
  • Tools & Monitoring:

    • Familiarity with monitoring and configuration management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, ManageEngine).
    • Strong understanding of hardware/software performance and scaling limitations.
  • Operational Responsibilities:

    • Ensure 99.99% uptime for all critical services.
    • Provide technical guidance during Severity 1/Priority 1 incidents and collaborate with TAC.
    • Support audits, device hardening, and security best practices.
    • Maintain patch management and wireless troubleshooting.
  • Project Support:

    • Participate in design discussions for new projects (HLD/LLD phases).
    • Provide technical inputs during implementation and cross-functional collaboration.
    • Assist in BoQ and SoW preparation.
  • Leadership & Collaboration:

    • Strong communication and collaboration skills for team management and leadership engagement.
    • Active involvement in technology evaluations and adoption of OEM best practices.
    • Mentor L2 teams and create upskilling plans to reduce TAC dependency.
  • Certifications:

    • Mandatory: CCNA, CCNP, Palo Alto.
    • Preferred: Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure).
