Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to provide high-quality financial analysis, reporting, and commercial support to the business. In this role, you will work closely with business leaders to deliver financial insights, support budgeting and cost management activities, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and contribute to informed decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys combining technical accounting expertise with stakeholder engagement and proactive problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver month-end reporting, industry review packs, and management reports.
  • Analyse financial performance, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
  • Partner with business leaders to provide financial advice, insights, and recommendations.
  • Monitor budgets, cost controls, and financial variances, identifying and escalating risks and control issues where appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial controls, and internal/ external audit requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and reporting.
  • Represent Finance leadership at business and project reviews when required.
  • Manage rolling forecasts and provide financial commentary on variances.
  • Review project and customer profitability.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations, including unbilled revenue, WIP, accruals, and revenue recognition.
  • Challenge assumptions and drive accountability for customer performance.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience interpreting and analysing P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
  • Management reporting, month-end close, budgeting, and cost control experience.
  • Knowledge of Australian, New Zealand, and International Accounting Standards.
  • Audit, compliance, and financial controls experience.
  • Working knowledge of corporate finance systems such as SAP (S/4), Qlik, Salesforce.
  • Commercial Project Management experience.
  • CPA or CA qualified, or currently studying towards CPA/CA.
  • Minimum 3 years' relevant accounting or finance experience.
  • Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and practical way.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Proactive approach to identifying issues and driving solutions.
  • Effective planning, organisation, and time management skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities while meeting deadline
