Role Purpose
The Senior Finance Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely input of finance-related data into enterprise systems such as SAP and CPM. This role supports project managers by ensuring financial data integrity, validating cost-related entries, and applying core finance knowledge (e.g., debit/credit, margin review). The specialist may also take over financial responsibilities when project managers are unable to cover finance items, particularly related to profit and loss tracking.
Key Accountabilities
Transaction Recording & Validation
- Input project data including but not limited to plans and actuals
- Validate entries against source documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain and update recorded transactions as needed.
Business Coordination & Issue Resolution
- Liaise with relevant business units to resolve concerns related to finance or project data.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of business requests.
- Align with project managers to update project plans and financial components.
Finance Fundamentals
- Apply working knowledge of accounting principles including debit/credit, margin review, and cost validation.
- Support financial aspects of projects when project managers are unavailable, especially for profit and loss tracking.
System Use & Compliance
- Utilize ERP systems (SAP and CPM) effectively for finance-related tasks.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of CPM functionalities relevant to finance operations.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
Collaboration & Communication
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders across teams.
- Handle multiple projects/accounts and manage workload during peak periods.
- Compliance to data privacy and information security policy
- Training and upskilling of junior members
Other Duties
- Perform other duties-relevant to the role as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
