Fujitsu Research of America (FRA) is inviting applications out for an internship position in quantum algorithms. Selected candidate will work from FRA’s Santa Clara office. The successful candidate will be pursuing a PhD/ MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related fields with focus on quantum information processing.

Job responsibilities:

  1. Develop novel quantum algorithms (for fault-tolerant quantum devices or NISQ devices or both) and demonstrate their applicability for real-world business problems.
  2. Design experiments on NISQ devices or quantum simulators to demonstrate quantum advantage whenever applicable.
  3. Advance team as well as FRA goals through academic as well as industrial collaborations.

 

Essential requirements:

  1. Pursuing MS/ PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields with extensive research background in the area of quantum computing.
  2. Strong publication record demonstrated by accepted or published research papers in high quality conferences and/ or journals.

 

Preferred requirements:

  1. Strong background and knowledge in quantum algorithms, quantum-inspired algorithms, and classical-quantum hybrid algorithms.
  2. Coding experience in C++, JAVA, or Python.

 

Fujitsu salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each situation. The pay range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: specific skills, qualifications, experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. The pay range for this position is estimated at $94,080 to $134,400 USD. Additionally, this role may be eligible for a short-term incentive based on company results and individual performance.
