Position Description: SAP SuccessFactors Learning Management Technical Lead

Role Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled SAP SuccessFactors Learning Management Technical Lead with 8+ years of experience in the implementation, support, and management of the SAP SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS). The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in LMS configurations, integrations, and customizations, with proven experience in successfully leading 2-3 full-cycle SAP SuccessFactors Learning implementation projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership in LMS Implementation:
    • Lead the technical design, development, and delivery of SAP SuccessFactors Learning implementations.
    • Manage the entire implementation life cycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, and go-live.
    • Ensure seamless integration of the Learning Management System with other SuccessFactors modules like Performance & Goals, Compensation, and Recruiting.
  2. Configuration & Customization:
    • System Configuration: Configure key elements in SAP SuccessFactors Learning such as Learning Plans, Curricula, Learning Events, Instructor-Led Training (ILT), and Content Object Management.
    • Course Catalogs & Class Management: Develop and manage the setup of course catalogs, learning events, and class schedules, as well as customization of learning paths and course prerequisites.
    • User Roles & Permissions: Configure user roles, permissions, and access rights within the LMS, ensuring compliance with corporate governance and security standards.
  3. Integration Expertise:
    • SAP SuccessFactors Integration: Lead the design and development of integrations between SAP SuccessFactors LMS and external systems like HRIS, Learning Content Providers, Talent Management platforms, and SCORM/AICC compliant systems.
    • Utilize tools such as SAP CPI (Cloud Platform Integration), Dell Boomi, SAP Integration Center, and ODATA APIs to manage data flow and integrations.
    • Single Sign-On (SSO) and User Provisioning: Implement SSO integration and automatic user provisioning using tools like LDAP and Active Directory for user authentication.
  4. Reporting and Analytics:
    • Create and customize Ad Hoc Reports, Scheduled Reports, and Dashboard Analytics using the SuccessFactors Report Centre and Matrix Reporting tools.
    • Utilize SAP SuccessFactors Learning Reporting features for analyzing course completion, certifications, and training compliance metrics.
    • Implement Custom Reports for advanced analysis using SuccessFactors Reporting APIs and Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
  5. Technical Troubleshooting and Support:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting and resolving complex system issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
    • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and provide detailed corrective actions for recurring issues.
    • Manage system monitoring and provide post-implementation support to ensure continuous optimization.
  6. Technical Documentation:
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation covering configuration, integrations, workflows, customizations, and troubleshooting guides.
    • Create Knowledge Base articles to assist users in resolving common technical issues independently.

Technical Skills and Specifications:

  1. SAP SuccessFactors LMS Knowledge:
    • Learning Management System (LMS) Configurations: Deep knowledge of configuring Learning Plans, Curriculum Management, Learning Events, Instructor-Led Training, Content Management, Learning Assignments, and Competency Management.
    • Instructor-Led Training (ILT): Experience in the configuration of ILT, including scheduling, booking, attendance tracking, and certificate management.
    • Certification Management: Expertise in setting up certification programs, including recertification cycles, expiration dates, and notifications.
  2. Integration & Data Management:
    • SAP SuccessFactors Integration: Expertise in using SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) or Dell Boomi for seamless integration between SuccessFactors LMS and other systems (HRIS, ERP, etc.).
    • Web Services & APIs: Good to have knowledge of  SOAP/REST Web Services, ODATA APIs, SuccessFactors Integration Center, and Data Transfer (DT) methods for data synchronization and system communication.
    • Learning Content Integration: Experience integrating SCORM, AICC, and xAPI (Tin Can) compliant content into the LMS platform.
  3. Customization & Development:
    • SAP SuccessFactors Customization: Ability to customize Learning Modules using XML, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for UI/UX changes, and Java for backend configurations.
    • Business Rule Engine: Proficient in utilizing SuccessFactors Business Rules for automating workflows and event-driven actions within the LMS (e.g., auto-assigning courses based on roles, certifications).
    • Learning Management Workflows: Develop and customize workflows for approvals, notifications, and compliance tracking.
  4. Technical Troubleshooting & Support:
    • Expertise in using SAP SuccessFactors Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Incident Management tools for diagnosing and resolving issues related to LMS performance, functionality, and integration.
    • Performance Tuning & Optimization: Familiarity with optimizing system performance, including the analysis of user activity, content delivery, and system configurations for efficiency.
  5. Security & Compliance:
    • Data Security: Strong knowledge of data encryption, privacy policies, and user data protection in compliance with GDPR, SOX, and other legal regulations.
    • Access Control & Roles: In-depth understanding of Role-Based Permissions (RBP) within SuccessFactors and configuration of fine-grained user access control across multiple modules.
  6. Tools and Technologies:
    • Integration Tools: SAP CPI, Dell Boomi, SAP Integration Center, MuleSoft, and other integration middleware tools.
    • Report Generation: Report Center, Ad Hoc Reporting, Matrix Reporting, SAP Business Intelligence (BI), and Data Warehouse.
    • Scripting & Automation: JavaScript, XML, HTML, and CSS for customization, and Business Rules for automated workflows.
    • Version Control & Development Tools: Git, JIRA, Confluence, and Jenkins for versioning, collaboration, and CI/CD pipeline management.

Desired Qualifications and Certifications:

  • SAP SuccessFactors Learning Management Certification (Mandatory)
  • SAP Certified Technology Associate or Certified Integration Associate in SAP SuccessFactors

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in SAP SuccessFactors, particularly within the Learning Management System.
  • 2-3 full implementation projects involving SAP SuccessFactors LMS from start to finish.
