Virtuora solution is an industry leading SDN-enabled optical network controller and orchestrator. The solution is built upon a cloud-native platform leveraging open-source components to provide a multi-domain, vendor agnostic, highly available and scalable network controller to manage service lifecycle, device configuration, fault management and PM analytics for WDM, OTN and Layer 2 packet networks. It's currently deployed by major
telecom providers globally.
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced product manager with a strong background in transport network management to spearhead the evolution of the Virtuora services and element management functions. Ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise to the Virtuora product line management team and will be responsible for the managing and driving the transport network services (Layer 0 and Layer 1), Path Computation Engine and Element Management Function. The role possesses a unique blend of business and technical skills, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality.
Role and responsibilities:
• Drive vision, strategy and roadmap for Virtuora evolution enabling Fujitsu’s network automation solutions
• Lead software product lifecycle for from conception, roadmap planning, feature prioritization, software release to maintenance
• Collect, define and prioritize customer and market requirements
• Drive feature implementation by providing guidance on customer requirements, use-cases and acceptance criteria to software development teams
• Work closely with engineering team as customer proxy and participate in scrum meetings (bug reviews, sprint demos etc.)
• Define and influence tooling and best practices in driving synergies across various Virtuora applications
• Support customer engagement & pre-sales activities including product presentations, demos, proof-of-concept evaluations, trials, RFP responses, pricing proposals etc.
• Collaborate closely with various stakeholders – Sales, presales, tech/product support, application teams, documentation, etc.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of Software Product Management, Development, Test, Systems Engineering in Optical transport network solutions
• Experience and familiarity with SDN, NMS/domain controller systems, WDM, OTN services, protection, restoration schemes, path computation engines, routing optimizations.
• Proven experience in customer facing roles – presenting solutions, RFx engagement, brainstorming ideas
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to collaborate cross functionally
• Business and technology-oriented, with a strong product and functional background
• Comfortable working in a team-oriented, highly collaborative virtual environment that is geographically distributed
Good to have:
• Experience with routing algorithms, network optimizations.
• Certifications around product management, owner
• Experience with RKE2 Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms (OpenShift, AKS, EKS etc.)
• Familiarity with networking protocols such as NETCONF, Yang, TL1, SNMP, gNMI, gRPC
