We are looking for an experienced optical networking professional in the Pluggable Optic market space who is energetic, articulate, and motivated; who understands optical networking and design; preferably who has a history working with Cloud Infrastructure Provider (CIP) optical network deployment (either working for a CIP or a system supplier to CIPs); and who wants to work in a dynamic, multi-cultural environment.  Past roles defining new products and managing field-deployed pluggable optic products are beneficial.  In addition, the candidate should have experience developing business cases, developing product strategy, and supporting Sales and Marketing activities.

 

Responsibilities

  • Define a portfolio of pluggable optic products for deployment in CIP and Communication Service Provider (CSP) optical networks, and document in product specifications
  • Act as customer advocate, providing customer application and market driver information to support feature prioritization and technical development, and manage the product's lifecycle
  • Assist in the creation of successful business plans, with both technical and business financial strategies, to gain project development commitment and customer adoption
  • Provide technical input to RFP creation
  • Communicate and provide technical training of product capabilities to customers, at industry events, and to internal teams
  • Develop & present customer messages for resolution of faults, field issues, or new feature requests
  • Assist Account Management with P&L financial analysis of customer deals that may be considered periodically
  • Provide Competitive Intelligence on pluggable optic technologies and products of interest to the CIP and CSP markets, optical component market trends, and competitor capabilities

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical area, advanced degree beneficial in technical role
  • 10 years industry experience in optical networking with direct experience in optical network deployment, optical system development, and/or Product Line Management
  • Deep understanding of Pluggable Optics and the associated components and technologies
  • Understanding of Cloud Infrastructure Provider optical networks and trends 
  • Understanding of Operational Support Systems and Open standards concepts is beneficial
  • Customer Presentation Skills and Experience
  • Good project management, teamwork, marketing, and communications skills
  • Able to travel as necessary, at least 25% of the time

The pay range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: specific skills, qualifications, experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. The pay range for this position is estimated at $149,575.00 to $213,679.00 USD. Additionally, this role may be eligible for a short-term incentive based on company results and individual performance.
