3D Computer Vision & Prototype Development (Spring 2026)

Location: Fujitsu Pittsburgh Office / Remote work is negotiable
Position Type: Full-Time Software Engineer Intern

Period: Spring 2026 for 3 months (January- March)

 

About the Role

We are seeking highly motivated Sofware/Research Engineers with strong backgrounds in 3D Computer Vision to support Fujitsu researchers in developing cutting-edge research prototypes aimed at submission to top-tier HCI conferences (e.g., CHI, UIST).
The role focuses on implementing, experimenting with, and extending state-of-the-art 3D reconstruction and generation techniques, creating research pipelines, and delivering working prototypes.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate students or recent graduates strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Vision, Robotics, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Strong foundation in 3D computer vision (geometry, camera models, pose estimation, NeRF/implicit models, depth estimation).
  • Practical experience with at least some of the following:
    • 3DGS, VGGT, SAM3D, SAM3, or similar 3D vision frameworks.
  • Strong programming skills in:
    • Python (PyTorch, NumPy, OpenCV, etc.)
    • JavaScript / TypeScript, React, HTML/CSS
    • Flask or other lightweight Python web frameworks
  • Ability to quickly read and implement research papers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working in fast-iteration research environments.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with Fujitsu research teams to design and build research prototypes.
  • Implement and Experiment with modern 3D vision models (e.g., 3D Gaussian Splatting , VGGT, SAM3D, SAM3).
  • Develop modules for 3D reconstruction, generation, and scene understanding.
  • Reproduce results from recent papers; adapt methods for novel applications.
  • Build front-end and back-end components for web-based research demos (React, JavaScript, Python/Flask).
  • Prepare experiments, datasets, evaluation metrics, and documentation.
  • Contribute to technical implementation for submissions to research conferences.
