Physical AI Senior Researcher
Fujitsu Research of America (FRA) is seeking a highly motivated and talented researcher to join our Pittsburgh Research office and contribute to our research and development efforts. In this role, you will focus on advancing foundational technologies in Physical AI for real-world applications through close collaboration with leading universities. You will focus on developing new approaches to solve complex problems in the domain of Physical AI, contribute to the development and implementation of these solutions through rapid prototyping and experimentation. Job responsibilities:
- As an individual contributor, conduct cutting-edge research to advance fundamental Physical AI technologies, including but not limited to robotics, computer vision, AI/ML, and human-computer interaction (HCI), as well as their downstream applications.
- Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals, and present work at invited talks, conferences, and workshops
- Integrate technologies across the stack, from early-stage in-house research developed to commercially available systems, to create impactful solutions for real-world problems.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including leading university researchers, to advance innovative research and technology development
Essential requirements:
- PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
- Strong track record of publishing research in top-tier venues, such as ICRA, IROS, RSS, CoRL, NeurIPS, ICRL, ICML, AAAI, CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, CHI, UIST, etc.
- Strong expertise in developing application-focused approaches for real-world deployment of Physical AI.
- Proficiency in Python and modern AI development practices
Preferred requirements:
- Experience in interdisciplinary research collaborations
- Strong prototyping skills for rapid validation of ideas and systems
- Proficiency in C++
- Familiarity with APIs and database systems
- Experience with ROS or other robot software and libraries
- Experience working with 3D tools
