Position Overview: Wayfinders Senior Digital Manufacturing Consultant (MES/MOM)
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Digital Manufacturing Consultant to join our Wayfinders team. This role is ideal for a hands-on, delivery-oriented consultant with deep experience in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) / Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) solution development, systems integration, and manufacturing digital platforms. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as an individual contributor on MES / MOM engagements, with a strong focus on solution design, configuration, development, and deployment.
This individual should be capable of managing technical workstreams, contributing to multiple project deliverables with manager oversight, and collaborating closely with strategy, IT, OT, and operations stakeholders. They will support execution of business development activities through technical input, solution shaping, and demonstrations. We are seeking strong team players who are entrepreneurial, comfortable with ambiguity, passionate about customer success, and motivated to build scalable, production-ready manufacturing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Client Delivery & Technical Execution
- Own and execute technical workstreams for MES / MOM programs, including solution design, configuration, development, testing, validation, and deployment.
- Translate business and manufacturing requirements into detailed technical designs and working software solutions.
- Configure and extend MES / MOM platforms, with primary focus on Siemens Opcenter and Mendix.
- Support or lead integrations between MES / MOM, ERP, PLM, historians, and shop-floor systems.
- Develop prototypes, proofs of concept, and accelerators to support client decision-making and solution adoption.
- Participate in design reviews, technical workshops, and sprint ceremonies with client and internal teams.
- Identify technical risks, performance issues, and scalability concerns and proactively recommend mitigations.
- Leverage SQL and application-level code (e.g., Java) to support customization, integration, data analysis, and troubleshooting of MES / MOM solutions.
Systems Integration & Automation
- Design and support integrations with controls and automation systems, including:
- PLC platforms such as Rockwell Automation, Siemens, and DeltaV.
- Industrial platforms such as Ignition and OSI PI.
- Collaborate with controls engineers and plant teams to ensure reliable data flow between OT and IT layers.
- Support commissioning, validation, and hypercare activities during plant go-lives.
Practice & Capability Development
- Contribute to development of technical standards, reference architectures, templates, and accelerators for MES / MOM delivery.
- Share technical knowledge through internal training sessions, documentation, and mentoring of junior consultants.
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery quality, development efficiency, and reusability of assets.
- Support recruiting and onboarding efforts for technical consulting talent.
Business Development Support
- Provide technical input into proposals, statements of work, and client presentations.
- Participate in solution shaping, platform selection discussions, and effort estimation.
- Support demos and client workshops showcasing MES / MOM capabilities and use cases.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Experience
- 4–6 years of total professional experience, with significant hands-on delivery in MES / MOM or adjacent manufacturing systems.
- Strong experience with Siemens Opcenter (Execution, Discrete, Process, or related modules) and/or Mendix application development.
- Hands-on experience with SQL for data querying, validation, reporting, and troubleshooting within MES / MOM and manufacturing data contexts.
- Working knowledge of Java (or Java-based frameworks) for extending, customizing, or integrating MES / MOM solutions is highly desirable.

- Practical experience working with or alongside controls and automation engineering teams.
- Exposure to PLC programming or system integration using Rockwell, Siemens, or DeltaV PLCs.
- Experience integrating MES with historians and industrial platforms such as Ignition and OSI PI.
Consulting & Delivery Skills
- Experience working in a consulting or client-facing delivery environment.
- Ability to manage tasks independently while coordinating closely with project managers and architects.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical and process issues.

Fujitsu salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each situation. The pay range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: specific skills, qualifications, experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. The pay range for this position is estimated at $122,000 to $157,000 USD. Additionally, this role may be eligible for a short-term incentive based on company results and individual performance.
