Purpose of Role:
Senior Business Controller provides professional financial information, advice and support to Finance Team of Fsas UK as well as efficient management of financial processes dedicated to material and complex projects and contracts.
Key Activities:
- Delivery of an end to end finance service to the business incorporating:
- Provision of Actual, Forecast and associated variance analysis to the business;
- Full Balance Sheet management;
- Ensure financial controls and governance processes are operating as prescribed;
- Provides a professional financial service to the business as part of a team working with an autonomy;
- Participates in regular business reviews with Finance Director and Business Partner, delivers explanations for deviations as well as solution recommendations;
- Provides advice on accurate solutions related to complex accounting treatment (ex: leasing accounting, revenue recognition, revaluation, contingencies);
- Influences performance by resolving local problems and advising line management in order to influence decisions relating to revenue, margin, cash flow, investments, productivity, systems, controls or processes;
- Reviews outputs internal and external audits and follows up with recommendations for improvements as required;
- Ensures effective communication or mitigation of events or proposals that would trigger a negative variance to forecast or budget;
- Builds relationships with internal customers;
- Support Finance Team in process management and promotes continuous improvement culture;
- Satisfy Continuous Personal Development requirements and promote personal development for self.
Skills required:
- Qualified (CIMA, ICAEW, ACCA, CTA and Institute of Corporate Treasurers or equivalent);
- Master Degree in Finance-related area;
- 5 years or more practical work experience in a senior accounting management function;
- High business awareness;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Reveal independency and proactive behaviours;
- Excellent presentation and communication skills;
- Fluent command of English written and spoken;
- Expertise in Microsoft Office, including excellent MS Excel working skills;
- Capability to handle end to end responsibilities;
- Reliability in figures;

- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to support collaboration across Finance.
