About the role
The Accountant will be responsible for managing aspects of accounts payables, including local creditors, fixed assets as well as first level support for external auditors, and month-end close activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing and paying local suppliers.
- Analyse balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
- Preparation of monthly expense report.
- Reconcile vendor accounts.
- Coordinate month-end close, post and reconcile sub-ledgers and general ledgers for local accounts payables and fixed assets.
- Prepare and enter journals.
- Responsible for providing inputs for the preparation of weekly cash flow.
- Disburse and reconcile petty cash.
- Provide documentation, analysis and answer local payables and fixed assets related questions during the year-end audit.
- Process staff expense claim forms.
- Coordinate Fixed Assets Counts. Prepare variance analysis and investigate differences.
- Monthly Bank Reconciliation
- Credit Card Reconciliation
- Coordinate bank reference letters and bonds for bids.
Key academic qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and/or Level II ACCA
- 2-5 years related experience
- Experience with Microsoft Great Plains would be considered an asset
- In-depth knowledge of finance principles, theories and concepts, including IFRS
