Junior Developer – AI-Assisted Automated Testing

Fujitsu Canada has a full-time, permanent opportunity for a Junior Developer – AI-Assisted Automated Testing to join our innovative. Working within the Microsoft 365 and Copilot ecosystem, you will help build and run AI-assisted automated tests that keep our solutions reliable, secure, and high quality. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for an early-career developer who is eager to learn modern testing practices. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for solutions.
• Use AI-assisted testing tools to help generate, maintain, and optimize test cases and test data.
• Support functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing across applications.
• Help validate AI-enabled features such as intelligent search, recommendations, and automation.
• Log, track, and help triage defects, working with developers to confirm fixes.
• Contribute to building and maintaining continuous integration and continuous testing pipelines.
• Document test plans, results, and procedures in line with quality, governance, and security standards.
• Participate in Agile development processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
• Recent diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent training).
• Foundational programming skills in at least one language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript).
• Basic understanding of software testing concepts such as test cases, defects, and regression testing.
• Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 Ecosystem.
• Eagerness to learn AI-assisted testing tools and modern quality assurance practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow direction and collaborate effectively within a team.
Nice-to-Have Skills
• Internship, co-op, academic, or personal project experience in software development or QA testing.
• Exposure to test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or pytest).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development or testing tools.
• Experience with version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Awareness of AI-enabled tools and frameworks such as Azure Cognitive Services.
• Understanding of Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Exposure to semantic search or AI-driven content retrieval.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and bilingual UI considerations.
• Bilingual or multilingual communication skills.
General Requirements
• Must reside in the Ottawa/Gatineau area.
• Hybrid work arrangement — onsite at least three days per week, with additional days as needed.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Commitment to quality and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
• Eligibility for Reliability Security status; minimum five years’ residency in Canada.
