Role title

HR GENERALIST

 

Purpose

 

The role holder provides day to day operational HR advice and support to managers and employees within a business or operating unit. The individual will be a generalist HR professional. The role holder will contribute, and sometimes lead, on HR projects within their area of responsibility.

 

 

  • Work with business and managers to successfully execute the HR strategy for their area of responsibility.
  • Contribute to the development of the overall HR Strategy in the GDC.  Ensure the HR requirements, for the area of responsibility, are addressed in the overall strategy.
  • Responsible for supporting the local HR through Employee Relations matters such as disciplinary actions, handling of cases based on local legislation and policy enforcement.
  • Facilitate and implement the appropriate HR programs, processes, and tools, with a high degree of customer satisfaction, acting as as local SPOC for the Performance Management cycle, Talent Management and the bi-annual Enablement & Engagement Survey.
  • Support Business Managers by providing day-to-day advice and recommendations with regard to HR policy and procedures and the application of best practice systems, tools and techniques into their business. 
  • Lead initiatives to identify and implement HR business process improvements.

 

 

Required Knowledge and Experience

 

  • Bachellor’s degree in business administration, psychology, human resources, or 3 years of equivalent experience.
  • 1 year of professional experience working in an HR function, ideally exposed to different Human Resources streamlines.
  • Experience managing legal cases and supporting legal documentation requirements.
  • Highly customer service focused and able to interact confidently at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience operating in a large, complex and changing environment.
  • Commercially aware and able to contribute credibly as a member of a Business Unit management team.
  • Strong documentation skills with background creating and editing proceses and policies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Strong consulting skills, in particular, relationship building, influencing, and negotiating as well as grievance processes
  • Experience managing relationships with third party suppliers may be required for some positions
  • Knowledge and understanding of the IMS.
  • Experienced in managing HR Information Systems (Oracle preferred).
