Responsibilities
Fujitsu is looking for a skilled Smallworld Developer to join our team for a permanent opportunity. The successful candidate will provide IT services and consulting under the direction of the Team Lead. Responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and enhancing key applications developed on tech stacks including GE Smallworld, .NET, Java, Oracle, Citrix, Windows, Unix
- Interacting with application end users and support teams to triage, troubleshoot, resolve and escalate support incidents
- Analyzing problems by investigating and diagnosing root causes and devising recommended solutions
- Completing ad hoc service requests
- Gathering and comprehending client business requirements, design application solutions to meet those requirements and produce estimates of effort for proposed design
- Developing, testing, and deploying application enhancements and fixes
- Gaining a solid comprehension of the application technology stack, and the business functions of those applications
- Liaising with a supervisor / lead on assigned activities to provide status updates or progress reports and manage those activities through service management tools
- Producing documentation for support procedures, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, testing scripts and reports
- Organizing, communicating, and supporting various maintenance activities
- Performing application health checks
- Managing application services
- Utilizing coding standards and best practices
- Conducting code reviews
- Developing and executing test cases
- Providing 24/7 on call support, coordination, and escalation on a team rotation
What We Are Looking For
- About ten (10) years of professional experience as a Smallworld developer using Magik on GIS projects within the last fifteen (15) years.
- About five (5) years’ experience in utilities sector, specifically Electric Distribution and Transmission.
- A good understanding of Transmission and Distribution programs, such as Advance Distribution Manager System, Utility network modeling, GE- Design Manager, GE- Electric office , Outage Management and Field Operations Maintenance.
- Fluent in English – speaking and writing.
- Must be located in Canada.
