In this role, you will model and analyze customer transport networks to meet their service needs with the best fit of Fujitsu products to optimize bandwidth and reach while minimizing total implementation costs. You will work on tactical sales opportunities as well as modelling for new product concepts, helping to prove in application value. We need someone who is energetic, process focused, articulate, understands optical engineering and telecom networking, and is adept at working within a team. The successful candidate will work with Sales & Marketing, other Product Line Management, and Engineering Development as necessary to model optical network performance solutions during sales bids, RFP responses, or during new product feasibility review.
Responsibilities:: Provide optical transport network modelling of Fujitsu equipment on customer topologies as requested by Sales teams. Validate rate/reach tradeoffs.Work closely with RFP response teams to provide network modelling solutions or comparison model options. Assist in creation of solution value propositions, possible solution Bill of Materials, costing, and sales price modelling.Support the Sales and Marketing teams as an optical design expert. Provide technical answers and descriptions in support of sales meetings and RFP responses.Act as application expert and potentially support Sales and Marketing at trade shows for technical support of equipment demonstrations or presentations.Perform as a flexible member of the Network Design Team (NDT) which has members in North America and JapanSupport maintenance of the data tools used by NDT for modelling. Update as new product is released and contribute process improvement ideas.Using network modelling experience, provide input to Product Planning teams for product improvements that could enhance performance.Assist Account Management with network model P&L financial impact analysis of customer deals that may be considered periodically.
Qualifications:: Bachelor’s Degree required and preferred in Photonics/Optical Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering. Also consider others such as Physics, Math, CompSci.At least 5+ years industry experience in optical networking with direct optical equipment experience in development, PLM, sales, sales engineering and/or project managementTechnical understanding of C+L DWDM optical point-to-point line systems, ROADM, EDFA/RAMAN amps, MDM, AWG, WSS, coherent optics, optical design, and impairmentsCommunications Service Provider or Cloud Operator Tier 1 market experience preferred.Good project management, teamwork, time management, and communications skillsAble to travel infrequently, if necessary, up to 10% of time.Able to work remotely with some facetime in office if located in Dallas-Ft. Worth area.
