Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Finance Functional Consultant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess deep functional expertise in Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials modules, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Cash Management, Fixed Assets (FA), and Tax. This role is critical to understanding client financial processes, designing optimal Oracle solutions, and leading successful implementations from requirements gathering to go-live and support. Exceptional communication and a strong grasp of financial accounting principles are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering:
Lead discovery workshops and conduct in-depth interviews with client's finance and accounting teams to understand current business processes, pain points, and future state requirements.
Analyze complex financial scenarios and translate business needs into comprehensive functional specifications and design documents.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and standardization within Oracle's financial modules.
Solution Design & Configuration:
Design, configure, and implement Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials modules to meet client-specific business and regulatory requirements.
Specialize in the functional setup and optimization of:
General Ledger (GL): Chart of Accounts design, legal entities, ledgers, segment value security, allocations, consolidations, revaluations, and financial reporting.
Accounts Payable (AP): Invoice processing (manual, electronic, OCR), payment processing, expense reports, supplier management, and integration with Procurement.
Accounts Receivable (AR): Customer invoicing, receipts processing, collections, customer master, revenue recognition principles, and credit management.
Cash Management (CE/Cash Management Cloud): Bank statement reconciliation, cash pooling, forecasting, bank account setup, and treasury integration.
Fixed Assets (FA): Asset lifecycle management (additions, adjustments, depreciation, retirements), asset categories, depreciation rules, and tax books.
Tax (Vertex, Avalara, or Oracle Tax Cloud): Configuration of tax regimes, rates, rules, recovery, and reporting according to local and international tax regulations.
Develop functional designs for reports, interfaces, conversions, and extensions (RICEW), and collaborate effectively with technical teams.
Implementation & Post-Implementation Support:
Lead and execute functional testing activities, including unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Develop training materials and conduct comprehensive end-user training sessions for client finance teams.
Provide expert functional support during go-live and post-implementation phases, troubleshooting configuration issues and guiding users.
Assist with data validation and migration strategies from a functional perspective for financial data.
Client Management & Communication:
Serve as a primary functional point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and fostering trust with finance leadership and staff.
Clearly articulate complex Oracle Financials functionalities and their impact on financial processes and reporting to diverse audiences.
Conduct effective presentations, status updates, and client reviews.
Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues from a functional standpoint.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay current with Oracle EBS patches, updates, and Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials releases, evaluating their relevance and benefits for clients.
Recommend best practices and process improvements to enhance financial operations and reporting.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is a strong plus.
Experience:
8+ years of dedicated functional consulting experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials.
Proven track record of delivering multiple full lifecycle Oracle Financials implementations.
In-depth functional expertise across all of the following Oracle Financials modules: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, and Tax.
Functional Knowledge:
Strong hands-on configuration experience across all specified Oracle Financials modules.
Deep understanding of core accounting principles, financial reporting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS), and internal controls.
Ability to map complex financial processes to Oracle functionalities.
Understanding of integration points between Financials and other Oracle modules (e.g., SCM, HCM).
Soft Skills:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to simplify complex financial and technical concepts for various stakeholders.
Superior interpersonal and client-facing skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with finance professionals.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, client-facing consulting environment.
Excellent presentation, facilitation, and workshop leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Haves):
Oracle Certifications in relevant Oracle Cloud Financials or EBS modules.
Experience with Financial Accounting Hub (FAH) or Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) solutions.
Prior experience in a pre-sales functional capacity, demonstrating Oracle Financials solutions.
Experience across multiple industries.
