Senior SAP MM Senior Consultant

Experience:

5+ years of SAP experience, including significant hands-on experience with SAP MM (Material Management)

Role Overview

Candidate will bring strong functional expertise across SAP Materials Management (MM) together with practical experience delivering SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA conversions. The role will involve working across the full conversion lifecycle, from assessment and preparation through functional remediation, testing, cutover and post-go-live support.

The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, SAP functional and technical teams, data migration teams, integration teams and program leadership to ensure that the MM solution is successfully transitioned to S/4HANA while maintaining business continuity.

Key Responsibilities

1. SAP MM Functional Leadership

• Act as the SAP MM Subject Matter Expert within S/4HANA transformation and conversion program´s.
• Own functional design and solution decisions for MM-related processes.
• Analyze existing ECC MM processes and identify opportunities for simplification and standardization in S/4HANA.
• Lead fit-to-standard / fit-gap assessments.
• Design and document future-state MM processes aligned with SAP S/4HANA best practices.

2. SAP ECC to S/4HANA Conversion

Lead and support MM activities across SAP S/4HANA system conversion, including:

• SAP S/4HANA readiness and impact assessments.
• Analyze existing ECC MM configuration and custom developments.
• Identify S/4HANA simplification items relevant to MM.
• Assessing business impacts arising from S/4HANA changes.
• Support execution and resolution of SAP Simplification Item requirements.
• Review relevant SAP Notes and release-specific changes.
• Analyze custom code and enhancements impacting MM processes.
• Support remediation of functional and configuration issues.
• Review interfaces and integrations impacted by the conversion.
• Support data consistency and master-data readiness activities.
• Participate in conversion mock cycles and dress rehearsals.
• Support cutover planning and execution.
• Provide hyper care and post-go-live support.

3. S/4HANA Procurement & Master Data

Strong understanding of the S/4HANA procurement architecture is expected, including:

• Business Partner / Supplier integration.
• Material Master changes in S/4HANA.
• Inventory Management changes.
• SAP Fiori applications relevant to MM.
• New and changed procurement functionality.
• Output Management considerations.
• Flexible Workflow.
• MRP integration with MM.
• Finance integration and account determination.
• Integration with SAP Ariba, where applicable.
• Integration with Warehouse Management / EWM, where applicable.

Experience with Material Ledger / Actual Costing and its integration with MM is desirable.

4. Integration

Work closely with other SAP workstreams to ensure end-to-end process integration.

Key integration areas include:

• MM–FI
• MM–CO
• MM–SD
• MM–PP
• MM–QM
• MM–WM/EWM
• SAP Ariba / external procurement platforms
• Third-party warehouse and supplier systems
• Interfaces using IDoc, RFC, APIs and other integration technologies

The consultant should be capable of identifying integration impacts and coordinating resolution with the relevant functional and technical teams.

5. Testing

Lead or support the MM testing strategy across the S/4HANA conversion lifecycle.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop MM test scenarios and test scripts.
• Support unit, system integration and regression testing.
• Coordinate end-to-end business process testing.
• Support UAT.
• Analyze defects and provide root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate defect resolution with technical and cross-functional teams.
• Support regression testing following SAP upgrades, patches and conversion activities.
• Participate in mock conversion cycles.

6. Cutover & Go-Live

Support the MM workstream through production cutover and go-live.

Responsibilities include:

• Define MM cutover activities and dependencies.
• Prepare detailed cutover plans.
• Coordinate master and transactional data readiness.
• Support open PO and inventory-related activities.
• Validate critical configuration and master data.
• Execute post-conversion validation.
• Support go-live command center activities.
• Provide hypercare support.
• Stabilize business-critical MM processes after go-live.
