Role Purpose
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Software Engineer to join the 1Finity engineering team. The apprentice will work closely with experienced software engineers on the development, testing, automation, and maintenance of next-generation optical networking and infrastructure management solutions.
This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in software development, networking technologies, system integration, automation, and cloud-native platforms while working in a global engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support software development, testing, debugging, and maintenance activities.
- Assist in developing backend services, utilities, and automation scripts.
- Participate in software design discussions and code reviews.
- Contribute to feature implementation under guidance from senior engineers.
- Support API integration, data processing, and system monitoring activities.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving software defects.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for software validation and testing.
- Learn and apply software engineering best practices, coding standards, and Agile methodologies.
- Support CI/CD, automation, and cloud-based development initiatives where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- BE/B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related disciplines.
- Strong academic background.
- Good understanding of programming fundamentals and data structures.
- Knowledge of Python, C++, Java, or similar programming languages.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle concepts.
- Familiarity with Linux environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Python development.
- REST APIs and web technologies.
- SQL and database fundamentals.
- Git version control.
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS).
- Container technologies such as Docker.
- Exposure to AI/ML, automation, or data analytics would be an added advantage.
