Job Description for Quantum Computing Researcher

Job Location: -Bangalore

Product and Services -

Developed technologies would be incorporated in Fujitsu's quantum technology products and customer services.

 

Overview-

We are seeking talented researchers to join our Quantum Technology R&D team. The researcher carries out original research in the field of Quantum Technology according to Fujitsu’s Quantum strategy. The candidate is responsible for identifying and solving problems that are cutting-edge and enable progress in the field. The role lies at the intersection of quantum theory, quantum algorithms, applications, and software.

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Conduct novel research activities in the field of quantum machine learning and quantum algorithms
  • Produce patents and technical reports on the proposed approaches through detailed theoretical and numerical analysis
  • Understand the impact of the research with respect to the development of fault-tolerant quantum computation (both in theory and hardware)
  • Test novel ideas using quantum simulators or real-quantum hardware as applicable
  • Participate in developing relevant quantum software libraries as required
  • Build and participate in team projects and team deliverables with potential business outcome
  • Publish research work in top-journals and international conferences
  • Stay on top of current research literature and advancements in related areas
  • Present work and progress to senior leadership
  • Give technical talks on recent, relevant developments as part of research activities
  • Participate in industry-academia collaborative research

 

Required Skills

  • PhD in Physics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field with experience in any domain of quantum information science
  • Experience in developing or using python code
  • Strong ability to learn new topics in a rapidly developing field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Effective communication skills for both technical and semi-technical presentations
  • Ability to take ownership of work, effective documentation/organization/progress tracking ability

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in quantum computing or a related field with strong publication track-record
  • Knowledge of quantum computing, quantum algorithms, machine learning
  • Experience with high-performance computing
  • Experience with open-source quantum simulators, Git, code review, documentation
