Job Description for Quantum Computing Research Manager

Developed technologies would be incorporated in Fujitsu's quantum technology products and customer services.
Overview-
We are seeking a talented manager to join our Quantum Technology R&D team. The manager supports original research in the field of Quantum Technology according to Fujitsu’s Quantum strategy. The candidate is responsible for managing a high-performance team that solves problems that are cutting-edge and enable progress in the field. The role lies at the intersection of quantum theory and software.
Background
- Strong academic credentials in a sub-field of quantum technologies such as quantum algorithms, quantum error correction, or quantum communications from the theory & software perspective
- Very strong track record of publications in top journals
- Phd and relevant industry experience in the field
- Needs to be abreast of current state of art in the stated field of expertise
Experience
- Track-record in leading multi-year technical projects
- Experience in patent filing and innovations
- Experience in usage/support of quantum software packages
- Shows ability and examples of working in new fields
Preferred experience
- Background in numerical techniques and HPC deployment
- Has experience in grant/project proposal writing
Related management skills:
- Must have led a team before or had equivalent mentorship experience
- Must have examples of mentoring very junior researchers
- Understand the inner workings and has knowledge of managing a high-performance team
- Alignment on key values such as innovation and collaboration
