The Quantum R&D Division at Fujitsu Research of India Pvt. Ltd. (FRIPL) combines the strengths of Quantum Computing, Information Theory, Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering to build next-generation computational systems. As part of a global network of Fujitsu Quantum Labs across Japan, India, the USA, and Europe, the India team contributes to the Quantum Computing Stack, spanning hardware, firmware, compiler, simulators, algorithms, and applications.

 

We are seeking multiple talented researchers to join Fujitsu’s Quantum Technology R&D Internship Program.  As a research intern, you will conduct original research aligned with Fujitsu’s strategic vision for quantum computing.

Summer Intership: 2026

Your role will involve:

  • Conducting research activities in quantum applications, quantum algorithms, quantum machine learning, quantum error correction, and/or quantum compilation
  • Testing novel ideas empirically using quantum simulators or real-quantum hardware as applicable
  • Participating in developing quantum software libraries as required
  • Producing technical reports on the proposed approaches and their impact through detailed theoretical and numerical analysis
  • Presenting work and progress to other team members

Required skills:

  • Final-year M.Tech./M.S./B.Tech./M.Sc. or pursuing Ph.D. in physics, mathematics, computer science, computer engineering, electronics engineering, artificial intelligence, data science or a related field
  • Technical courses or recognized certificate courses in Quantum Computing
  • Experience in Python based quantum development frameworks
  • Strong ability to learn new topics in a rapidly developing field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while taking ownership of work, tracking progress and communicating effectively via technical presentations

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong publication and/or project track-record
  • No parallel course-work load in the internship duration
  • Knowledge of quantum computing, quantum algorithms, machine learning, compiler design
  • Experience with high-performance computing, machine learning frameworks, DFT or tensor networks
  • Experience with open-source quantum simulators, Git, code review, documentation
