Position Summary:
Experienced and highly skilled Senior Hyperion Developer for Application Management Services (AMS) and Application Development Services (ADS) team. This role will be crucial in supporting, maintaining, and enhancing our critical Hyperion suite of applications, which are integral to our financial planning, budgeting, and consolidation processes. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Oracle Hyperion Planning, Essbase, HFM, and related technologies, coupled with strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Application Support & Maintenance (AMS):
- Provide expert-level support for a comprehensive suite of Hyperion applications including:
- Global/AFE Hyperion Planning: Manage business rules, calculation scripts, web forms, task lists, SmartView reports, and dimension maintenance.
- Hyperion Closing/GLHistory Essbase: Support ASO/BSO cube structures, data loads, calculations, and reporting.
- Hyperion Financial Management (HFM): Maintain application components, consolidation rules, journals, data grids, and intercompany eliminations.
- Hyperion Planning ICF: Ensure the stability and functionality of the Integration for Cubes and related data flows.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues related to Hyperion application performance, data integrity, security, and functionality.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including data loads, metadata updates, security administration, and system health checks.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for optimization.
- Manage service requests and incidents, ensuring timely resolution and adherence to SLAs.
- Application Development & Enhancements (ADS):
- Design, develop, test, and deploy enhancements and new functionalities within the Hyperion applications based on business requirements.
- Develop and optimize Hyperion Planning business rules, calculation scripts, Essbase calculations (MDX/Calc Scripts), and HFM rules.
- Create and maintain data integration processes using FDM/FDMEE, ODI, or custom scripts to load data from source systems (e.g., Oracle EBS, other GLs) into Hyperion applications.
- Develop and modify reports, dashboards, and SmartView templates as required by finance users.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) for Hyperion-related projects.
- Documentation & Best Practices:
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, configuration guides, test plans, and run books.
- Ensure adherence to Hyperion best practices, company standards, and industry guidelines.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with business users, functional teams, and IT stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Collaborate with other developers and administrators on integrated systems (e.g., Oracle EBS, data warehouses).
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to junior team members if required.
- Problem Management:
- Identify root causes of recurring issues and recommend preventive measures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in the design, development, implementation, and support of Oracle Hyperion applications.
- Deep expertise in at least three of the following Hyperion modules:
- Hyperion Planning (Classic and/or EPBCS/PBCS concepts)
- Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)
- Essbase (both ASO and BSO cube design and optimization)
- Financial Data Management (FDM/FDMEE)
- Proficiency in writing complex Hyperion Planning business rules and Essbase calculation scripts (MDX and Calc Scripts).
- Strong understanding of HFM consolidation rules, journals, and intercompany processes.
- Experience with data integration tools and processes specific to Hyperion (e.g., FDMEE, ODI).
- Solid understanding of financial processes: budgeting, forecasting, financial close, consolidation, and reporting.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex Hyperion technical and functional issues.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) integration with Hyperion.
- Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with other EPM technologies or cloud EPM solutions (e.g., EPBCS, FCCS).
- Oracle Hyperion certification(s).
- Experience in an AMS/ADS service delivery model with ITIL familiarity.
