Job Description:

Role and Accountabilities:

  • Senior Oracle Fusion Middleware (FMW) Consultant to act as the technical architect and lead for our client's enterprise integration platform.
  • This senior role requires deep, hands-on expertise in Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Service Bus (OSB), and B2B for Oracle.
  • The consultant will be responsible for the design, development, deployment, and support of all mission-critical integrations connecting the core Oracle EBS system with numerous other on-premise and cloud applications.
  • As the subject matter expert (SME) for all middleware services, you will provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and advanced troubleshooting for the entire integration backbone.
  • This is a pivotal role ensuring the robust, reliable, and efficient flow of data across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architectural Leadership & Design (ADS): Lead the architecture and design of new enterprise integration solutions using Oracle FMW components.
  • Create and maintain high-level and low-level technical design documents for all integration patterns.
  • Establish and enforce development best practices for SOA, OSB, and B2B, including error handling, logging, performance optimization, and reusability.
  • Evaluate business requirements and recommend the most appropriate integration patterns and technologies (e.g., synchronous vs. asynchronous, real-time vs. batch).
  • Develop complex integration services using SOA Suite components like BPEL, Mediator, and Adapters (DB, File, AQ, Apps).
  • Design and implement service virtualization, routing, and transformation logic using OSB Proxy Services, Business Services, and Pipelines.
  • Configure and manage B2B integrations, including defining trading partner agreements, document types (EDI X12/EDIFACT), and channels.
  • Implement complex data transformations using XSLT, XQuery, and Java.
  • Develop and manage deployment scripts and processes (e.g., using WLST, Ant, Maven). Advanced Support & Operations (AMS): Serve as the highest technical escalation point for all FMW-related production outages and performance degradation issues.
  • Perform in-depth root cause analysis for complex incidents, utilizing the FMW Enterprise Manager console, logs, and diagnostic tools.
  • Proactively monitor the health of the middleware platform, including managed servers, JMS queues, and SOA/OSB composites, to prevent potential issues.
  • Oversee and troubleshoot issues with B2B message processing, including acknowledgements (e.g., 997s) and failed transactions.

Required Qualifications & Skills Experience:

  • 8-10+ years of dedicated experience designing, developing, and administering solutions with the Oracle Fusion Middleware stack (11g/12c).
  • Core Technical Expertise (Must-Have): Oracle SOA Suite: Expert-level knowledge of BPEL for orchestration, Mediator for routing, and Human Workflow.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with a variety of adapters, including Database, JMS, File/FTP, and a strong understanding of the Oracle Apps Adapter.
  • Oracle Service Bus (OSB): Mastery of OSB concepts for building loosely coupled integrations, including message enrichment, content-based routing, and protocol switching.
  • B2B for Oracle: Proven experience configuring and managing B2B integrations, including trading partner setup, document definitions (EDI), and inbound/outbound message processing.
  • WebLogic Server (WLS): Strong administrative and troubleshooting skills for the underlying WLS platform, including configuration of Data Sources, JMS Servers/Queues, and performance tuning.
  • Web Services & Data Standards: Deep expertise in web services (SOAP, WSDL, REST) and data formats (XML, XSD, JSON, XSLT, XQuery).
  • Development & APls (Highly Desirable): Proficiency with development tools such as JDeveloper and Eclipse (OEPE). Strong Java skills, particularly for use in Java Callouts within OSB/BPEL and for custom adapter development.
  • Experience with scripting languages like WLST, Ant, and Shell for automation of build and deployment tasks.
  • Integration Context: Proven experience integrating with Oracle E-Business Suite is essential.
  • Experience in an environment that also utilizes other ETL tools like ODI or Informatica is a significant plus.
  • Professional Skills: Exceptional ability to analyse and solve complex technical problems under pressure; strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex architectural and technical concepts to a varied audience. A strategic thinker who can design for future scalability and maintainability.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related engineering field. Oracle Certification in SOA Suite or OSB is highly preferred.
