We are seeking a highly strategic and critical leader for a role that will support the product lifecycle of our innovative optical communication equipment. We invite a proactive engineering leader to establish and lead our new development group in India, serving as a core component of our global development organization.

Job Summary:

This role involves leading the establishment of a hardware sustaining engineering organization in India (FRIPL) from the ground up and subsequently taking full responsibility for its operations and development management. You will oversee critical development activities aimed at ensuring the long-term quality, reliability, and market competitiveness of our cutting-edge optical communication equipment, primarily developed in the US and Japan.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Establishment and Organizational Building of the India (FRIPL) Center:
• Collaborate with US/Japan teams to establish a new hardware sustaining engineering organization in India, building a robust development team.
• Oversee all aspects of organization operations, including recruitment, talent development, and fostering an organizational culture, to establish an autonomous organization capable of delivering high-quality development outputs.
• Leadership and Execution of Hardware Sustaining Engineering:
• Lead the planning and execution of End-of-Life (EOL) component solutions, including evaluation and introduction of alternative components, contributing to supply chain stability.
• Direct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and the development of permanent countermeasures for technical issues encountered in the field, maximizing customer satisfaction.
• Drive improvement initiatives through close collaboration with manufacturing facilities, contributing to the resolution of production quality issues, yield enhancement, and cost optimization.
• Global Collaboration and Strategic Partnerships:
• As a member of 1Finity's Photonics System Business Unit (PSBU), work closely with business and development teams in the US and Japan to formulate global strategies and drive development initiatives based on those strategies.
• Build and maintain effective collaborative relationships with external development partners to optimize development resources and ensure efficient project execution.

 Required Experience & Skills:

• Extensive experience in hardware development, particularly in sustaining engineering or product lifecycle management.
• Proven track record of establishing and managing organizations or teams.
• Experience in project management and the ability to solve complex technical challenges.
• (Knowledge of optical communication equipment or comparable high-tech hardware is a plus.)
• Business-level English proficiency (essential for frequent communication with US/Japan teams).
• Experience in establishing a development center or managing an organization in India is highly desirable.
