Position Overview:

The SAS Viya Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining analytics and reporting solutions using the SAS Viya platform. This role ensures data accuracy, platform reliability, and the timely delivery of insights that support governance, compliance, and business decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SAS programming, BI reporting, and data management, with additional experience in Power BI or Crystal Reports considered an asset. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can operate independently while collaborating closely with onshore and offshore teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy analytical reports and dashboards using SAS Visual Analytics, Power BI, and (optionally) Crystal Reports.
Develop and execute CAS actions, manage CAS libraries, and optimize compute resources.
Monitor job executions, troubleshoot performance issues, and coordinate with infrastructure teams for upgrades and patches.
Implement and enforce access controls, security policies, and privacy compliance across SAS Viya components.
Translate complex business requirements into meaningful visualizations, KPIs, and metrics.
Build and optimize data models and queries to support both ad-hoc and scheduled reporting.
Ensure data integrity and consistency across multiple BI platforms.

Required Technical Skills & Qualifications:

Expert-level proficiency in SAS Viya, Power BI, including Power Query (M), DAX, data modeling, and administration within the Power BI service.
Experience integrating SAS Viya with Microsoft Power BI or other reporting tools.
Familiarity with ETL processes or data pipeline automation.
Experience in ITIL-based service delivery environments
Significant hands-on experience in developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex Crystal Reports.
Strong SQL skills for data extraction, validation, and querying against SQL Server databases.
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with remote and onshore teams.
Must be available to work productively and independently during Canadian business hours.
