Position Overview:
You will be the subject matter expert for Power BI and Crystal Reports, responsible for delivering accurate reports, maintaining data integrity, and providing insights that support governance and service reviews. The candidate must be adept at working with both modern and legacy reporting platforms and be able to deliver high-quality work during Canadian business hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Power BI/SSIS/SSRS,SAS Viya, SAS Viya ,Data Synapse/Data Lake/Data Factory
Reporting Development & Maintenance:Design, develop, deploy, and maintain robust reports and interactive dashboards using Power BI and Crystal Reports (optional)
Translate business requirements into effective data visualizations, KPIs, and tabular reports.
Develop and optimize data models in Power BI, writing efficient DAX measures and transforming data with Power Query.
Application Maintenance & Support (AMS):
Provide Level 2 support for all reporting-related incidents, including report failures, data discrepancies, and performance issues.
Analyze and correct faults within the BI platforms and specific report definitions.
Manage user access and security for reports and dashboards to ensure compliance with privacy obligations.
Base Service Responsibilities:
Reporting & Governance: Generate and deliver regular and special reports required for service reviews and governance meetings.
Documentation: Create and meticulously maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, business logic, ETL processes (if any), and individual reports. This is a critical deliverable.
Security & Privacy: Ensure all BI solutions strictly adhere to data security directives and privacy protection policies.
Continuous Improvement: Propose innovations and improvements to reporting services, such as migrating legacy reports or automating manual processes.
Collaboration: Work closely with the .NET support team and onshore stakeholders to understand data sources and reporting needs.
Required Technical Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a BI Developer, Reporting Analyst, or similar role.
Expert-level proficiency in Power BI, including Power Query (M), DAX, data modeling, and administration within the Power BI service.
Significant hands-on experience in developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex Crystal Reports.Strong SQL skills for data extraction, validation, and querying against SQL Server databases.
A strong understanding of BI best practices and data visualization principles.
High attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with remote and onshore teams.
Must be available to work productively and independently during Canadian business hours.
