Your Role
As part of our ESG & ISO Compliance team, you will play a key role in operating and continuously developing our Governance, Risk and Assurance Framework across the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region.
In this position, you will bring together Enterprise Risk Management, Assurance, Internal Controls and Process Governance in an international environment, supporting these areas through the targeted use of technology solutions. You will have the opportunity to actively develop our Corporate Governance Framework and measurably improve its effectiveness and data-driven approach.
Your Responsibilities
1. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)
- Continuously develop the regional Enterprise Risk Management Framework, including its methodology, risk assessment and risk mitigation approach. Acting as a Head Office function, you will ensure that Group requirements are implemented across regional and business unit-specific risk management.
- Plan and facilitate regular risk identification and assessment cycles together with risk owners across the business units.
- Maintain the regional risk register and ensure that risks are documented, assessed and tracked consistently.
- Define appropriate risk mitigation measures and coordinate them with the relevant stakeholders.
- Continuously monitor the implementation of risk mitigation measures and risk management action plans.
- Prepare risk reports, heat maps and management summaries for governance committees and senior management.
- Advise business units and management on risk-related matters while promoting a consistent risk culture.
- Further develop the operational interface between Enterprise Risk Management and Business Continuity Management (BCM).
2. Assurance
- Contribute to assurance reviews and internal audits, assessing the design and operational effectiveness of controls and processes.
- Independently plan, coordinate and support internal audits. You will also provide support during external and certification audits.
- Track findings from audits and reviews, as well as the resulting corrective actions, and develop continuous improvement programmes.
- Consolidate assurance results into an integrated overall view and identify overlaps and potential coverage gaps between the different assurance functions.
- Prepare assurance reports, management dashboards and status updates.
- Support governance committees and cross-functional compliance initiatives.
3. Internal Control System (ICS)
- Develop, implement and manage the Internal Control System, including the control catalogue, control descriptions and control responsibilities.
- Coordinate regular control assessments and testing cycles together with the relevant control owners.
- Assess control deficiencies and their impact and drive appropriate remediation measures.
- Ensure the appropriate documentation and retention of evidence to meet internal and external requirements.
- Continuously develop the control framework and adapt it to changing risks, regulatory requirements and organisational changes.
- Provide management with regular updates on control effectiveness, the progress of remediation activities and outstanding control deficiencies.
- Train and support control owners, thereby strengthening control awareness and accountability across the organisation.
4. Process Governance
- Develop and maintain the regional process landscape and the related Process Governance Model.
- Ensure consistent standards for process documentation, process ownership and process change management.
- Support process owners in designing, optimising and standardising business processes.
- Independently conduct process analyses and governance reviews, ensuring that risks and controls are appropriately integrated into process design.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness and support their implementation.
- Support organisational transformation and change initiatives from a governance perspective.
- Monitor relevant process performance indicators and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
5. Technology Enablement
- Actively drive the use of technology to support Enterprise Risk Management, Assurance, Internal Controls and Process Governance.
- Identify automation opportunities at an early stage and, where appropriate, implement automated controls, workflows and processes for collecting evidence.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards and analytics to provide transparent and up-to-date governance insights.
- Support the Data Owner in ensuring data quality, consistency and integration across different governance data sources and tools.
- Assess the potential value of new technologies, including data analytics and AI-enabled approaches, for governance and assurance activities.
- Act as a key user and enabler by supporting and training stakeholders in the effective use of governance tools and reporting solutions.
Your Qualifications
- A successfully completed university degree or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in Process Management, Governance, Compliance, Audit or Assurance
- Experience in using and maintaining Enterprise Risk Management systems
- Experience in establishing, developing and managing management systems and business processes
- Knowledge of additional management standards, such as ISO 31000 or ISO 22301, is an advantage
- A qualification as an internal auditor in accordance with ISO 19011 or a comparable auditor certification is also an advantage
- Ideally, experience with SAP Signavio for process documentation or a comparable BPMN 2.0 solution, combined with a good understanding of process-related technologies
- An analytical, structured and independent way of working
- Strong communication skills and confident stakeholder management
- Fluency in written and spoken German and English
